Official: AC Milan announce Alexis Saelemaekers has renewed until 2031

AC Milan have officially announced that Alexis Saelemaekers has renewed his contract with the club, signing a new multi-year deal.

Ever since the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri as the new head coach it has been evident that Saelemaekers has a very important role in the plans moving forward. The right wing-back role seems tailor made for him, and he has become an established starter.

Saelemaekers renewal: Now it’s official

A statement on the club’s official website reads as follows: “Milan are delighted to announce that Alexis Saelemaekers has renewed his contract with the Club until 30 June 2031, with effect from 1 July 2026.

“Since joining the Rossoneri in January 2020, Alexis has grown each season, standing out for his professionalism, selflessness, and strong sense of belonging, embodying the Club’s values on and off the pitch.”

The Belgian has 159 appearances and 12 goals for the club having signed from Anderlecht. He spent the last two seasons on loan at Bologna and Roma before returning to base.

Reports from various sources in the past 24 hours have stated that Saelemaekers will double his salary, moving from the current €1.5m net per season to €3m per year. His previous contract was set to expire in 2027, so it is a four-year extension.
