Today, AC Milan have announced that Divock Origi has left the club nearly 1,000 days after his last appearance for the Rossoneri.
A lot has been said about Origi in recent years, especially when it regards his position within the club. In fact, for the past year (or more), the focus has been on when he would leave and not what he could do for Milan.
It was said last season that he was in Rome, whilst still earning his salary from the Rossoneri. However, he was given a chance to reintegrate with the Futuro team, but after failing to impress, he returned to his position of exile.
Origi leaves Milan
This morning, it was suggested that the club were on the verge of terminating his contract. Now, this has been confirmed by the club themselves on their official website. The statement reads as follows, certainly not a very personable one, but that relationship was never really formed.
“AC Milan announces that they have consensually terminated the contract with striker Divock Origi.
“The Club wishes the footballer the best for the future.”
