Yacine Adli has completed a permanent move away from AC Milan, it has been confirmed, joining Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia.

There had been speculation about the deal being close to completion over the past few days, but now the official announcement has come from his new club on social media.

La Gazzetta dello Sport among other sources are reporting that Adli has signed a contract worth €7m net per season. It is triple the salary he was getting at Milan, who will receive €8m for the permanent sale.

A necessary exit

It has been clear from early in the summer – even after the change in head coach – that Adli was not considered a part of the plans for the Rossoneri, to the extent that he has been training with Milan Futuro.

A number of different clubs have been linked, including Sassuolo in Italy. However, when the talk of Saudi interest materialised, their financial power was always likely to make an impression.

Adli spent last season on loan with Fiorentina, a campaign in which he racked up five goals and seven assists in 35 games across all competitions. For Milan, he played 39 times and got one goal plus two assists, having arrived from Bordeaux.
