Massimiliano Allegri has received further acclaim as the AC Milan manager has been named Serie A Coach of the Month for September.
It was a perfect month for Milan in the end. They beat Bologna 1-0 at San Siro on 14 September, Udinese 3-0 away from home on 20 September, Lecce 3-0 at home in the Coppa Italia three days after that and then closed it with a 2-1 victory against champions Napoli.
The Rossoneri actually held top spot in the standings going into October, but relinquished it in the last round with a 0-0 draw against Juventus. Nonetheless, with four wins (three in the league), nine goals scored and only one conceded, it was a brilliant September for Allegri and his side.
The league have recognised this by crowning him the Coach of the Month, and it follows Christian Pulisic getting the Player of the Month award which was also fully deserved after a stellar last few games.
