Official: Alvaro Morata’s loan at Galatasaray terminated early – the fee Milan paid

Galatasaray have now confirmed that Alvaro Morata’s loan spell at the club has been terminated early, paving the way for his move to Como.

Morata only signed for Milan last summer from Atletico Madrid, but he never truly settled in and was sent on a year-long loan to Galatasaray in the winter mercato, therefore running until January 2026.

News then emerged a few weeks ago that Como boss Cesc Fabregas wants to bring the Spain captain to Como, and the striker himself was keen on the move. Since then, negotiations have been on to try and approve the early termination of his loan in Turkey.

On their social media, Galatasaray have now confirmed that Morata has left the club, therefore interrupting his loan deal there a few months in advance. They even disclose the figures.

“The contract between our club and professional footballer Alvaro Borja Morata Martin and his club AC Milan S.p.A. has been mutually terminated.

“Under the agreement, AC Milan S.p.A. will pay our company a termination fee of 5,000,000 EUR. Additionally, the footballer has waived his receivables amounting to 651,562 EUR. This is respectfully announced to the fans.”

With Milan having paid the termination fee, it is expected that Como will now pay a bit more to sign the 32-year-old on a permanent deal, with that next step imminent.
