AC Milan have officially confirmed that Astin Mbaye has signed his first professional contract with the club, and will be part of Milan Futuro.

A statement on the official website reads as follows: ” AC Milan announces that Astin Mohammet Zaehb Mbaye has signed his first professional contract. The defender, born in 2009, will be involved in the Milan Futuro project, an initiative dedicated to the growth and development of young talents.”

What is interesting about Mbaye is that he is just 16 years of age, and played for Milan U17s last year. Therefore, he will be making quite a jump to playing senior football with the Futuro, even if they were relegated to Serie D.

The New York-born central defender joined from the New York Red Bulls academy earlier this year, and is clearly already showing what he is about.

The likes of Fabio Pandolfi, Simon La Mantia and Victor Eletu have all committed their future to the club in recent days, too.
