Official: Camarda to miss out on facing Milan but diagnosis brings sigh of relief

Francesco Camarda will miss out on the chance to score against his parent club, but AC Milan can breathe a double sigh of relief.

Camarda was expected to start Lecce’s game over the weekend against Parma, but the head coach Eusebio Di Francesco confirmed that he was a late exclusion because of a shoulder issue that has been causing him pain.

During a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto then revealed a bit more information, suggesting that it is a ‘serious’ issue that Milan are a bit worried about.

“A shoulder problem, but it’s serious and will need to be evaluated in the next few days. Milan is aware of this situation, so we’ll see how it develops in the next few days. However, I can tell you that there’s a bit of concern regarding Camarda’s shoulder, and Milan are already aware of this.”

However, some positive news has come out regarding the teenage striker, who also missed the game against the Rossoneri’s city rivals at San Siro last night.

A statement on Lecce’s official website reads: “US Lecce announces that footballer Francesco Camarda underwent an orthopaedic consultation in Milan, which confirmed a contusion to his right shoulder and prescribed 15 days of rest.”

It means he will not be fit to face his parent club and his boyhood team Milan at San Siro on Sunday night and instead will have to watch from the stands, ones that he knows very well by now.
