AC Milan and Lecce reached an agreement to allow Francesco Camarda to have surgery on his injured shoulder, but what does it mean for the future?
In the past few weeks, Camarda’s next few steps have been discussed heavily. After all, Lecce have been reluctant to give up their future buy clause that was inserted into the deal in the summer. However, Milan pushed for his return.
A large part of this was due to the medical care for the player. The Rossoneri requested that he had surgery, which was the option also preferred by the young striker, whilst the Giallorossi thought that a less serious recovery plan would do.
Perhaps this was motivated by their desire to keep him until the summer, for that clause to kick in.
Camarda undergoes surgery
However, in the past 24 hours, it seems that things have been finalised, so this morning he headed to surgery, and MilanNews reports that it was a success, relaying words from Lecce themselves.
“US Lecce announces that footballer Francesco Camarda underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder today to reconstruct the glenoid labrum. The surgery was performed by Professor Castagna, assisted by Dr. Garofalo, at the Humanitas Institute in Milan.”

It is worth noting an earlier report, too, from ANSA, also relayed by MilanNews, which states that the Italian will begin rehabilitation to appear at the end of the season with his loan continuing as originally agreed.
Then, at the end of the season, he will return to the Diavolo.
