Leeds United have officially confirmed the signing of forward Noah Okafor from AC Milan in a permanent deal.
Okafor’s Milan future seemed to be uncertain all summer, but when he emerged with four goals from the preseason friendlies there were suggestions he might stay. Nonetheless, over the last few days, rumours of negotiations with Leeds grew and grew.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier in the week that the Premier League side had agreed a deal worth €20m for the Swiss international. Then, he tweeted a photo of Okafor heading over to England on a flight, to do his medical before signing the contract.
Okafor to Leeds: Now official
A statement on Leeds’ official website reads as follows: “Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Noah Okafor on a four-year contract, subject to a work permit and international clearance.
“The 25-year-old arrives at Elland Road on a permanent deal from Italian giants AC Milan and can operate across the forward areas on either wing, or as a central striker when required to do so.”
Okafor signed for Milan from Red Bull Salzburg in the 2023 summer transfer window, with seven goals and five assists to his name in 54 games for the club.
