Livio Marinelli has been named as the head referee for AC Milan’s clash against Fiorentina tomorrow. Looking at his record with the Rossoneri, the fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
After the draw against Juventus, Milan will be looking to bounce back with a win against Fiorentina at San Siro. With multiple stars missing, however, it won’t be the easiest of tasks for Massimiliano Allegri’s men, even if La Viola have started poorly.
AIA, the Italian Referees Association, announced the designations for round 7 three days ago. The 40-year-old Livio Marinelli will officiate Milan vs. Fiorentina, and he will be assisted by Rosario Abisso in the VAR room.
Positive record so far
Marinelli has officiated seven Milan games in his career and all but one have ended with the Rossoneri clinching all three points (6W, 1D). The most recent one was at the start of this season, more specifically the 2-0 win away at Lecce.

There have been no controversies involving the referee and Milan, which is good to hear. On the other hand, Marinelli haven’t really officiated any ‘high-profile’ Rossoneri games so the stakes have never been super high.
In any case, the fans can be happy with AIA’s decision and hopefully, Milan will continue their positive record with Marinelli is the head referee.
