AC Milan loanee Francesco Camarda is playing from the first minute in Lecce’s Serie A opener against Genoa, as confirmed by the club earlier this evening.
Milan agreed to send Camarda out on loan this summer and after a positive pre-season, finding the back of the net multiple times, the 27-year-old came off the bench and bagged a great assist in the Coppa Italia. Now, he’s playing from start in the Serie A opener.
Of course, it has a lot to do with Nikola Krstovic’s departure (he joined Atalanta a few days ago), but the manager Eusebio Di Francesco has also expressed a lot of faith in Camarda. Based on the performances on the pitch, the striker has also made the most of that faith.

Kick-off between Genoa and Lecce is scheduled for 18:30 CEST, so make sure to tune in if you want to watch Camarda in action. It should be noted that it isn’t his first league start, as he played from the first minute with Milan last season.
We can only hope that tonight’s game is the start of a good campaign for Camarda, as consistent playing time is exactly what he needs to continue his development.
