AC Milan Women have officially sold Evelyn Ijeh to the American club NC Courage, though it’s a move that the player didn’t exactly push for.
This season, Ijeh has been an important player for Milan Women with five goals and two assists. However, after being left out of the squad for the last two games, a move to the American club NC Courage has now been made official for the forward.
“AC Milan can confirm that Evelyn Ijeh has joined North Carolina Courage on a permanent basis. The Club would like to thank Evelyn for her total commitment and professionalism and wishes her all the best for her personal and professional endeavours,” the statement read.
Luca Maninetti has added that the Rossonere are expected to bank over €350k from the transfer, which is a very good figure indeed. However, it also meant that the club directors had to put their foot down with Ijeh, as he didn’t want to leave.
“After two years in red and black, my time with AC Milan has come to an end. While leaving at this time was not my choice, not everything is within our control.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to have represented the club, for the lessons learned, the growth, and the people along the way. Thank you to the fans for the support throughout the journey, and I wish AC Milan continued success in the future,” she wrote.
