Tommaso Pobega has completed his return to Bologna from AC Milan, it has been confirmed by both clubs.

Pobega spent last season on loan at Bologna and though they did not use their option to make it a permanent deal, speculation persisted that they were pursuing his return to the Stadio Renato dall’Ara.

Sure enough, the midfielder arrived in Bologna yesterday to begin a medical before signing his contract. He also said goodbye and thanks to the Rossoneri in an emotional letter posted on his Instagram profile, meaning that it was obvious things were about to be announced.

Meanwhile, Bologna have also confirmed the deal: “Bologna FC 1909 announces that it has acquired midfielder Tommaso Pobega from AC Milan on loan with an obligation to buy upon reaching certain conditions.”

Presuming the deal is made permanent, Pobega will leave Milan with 43 senior appearances to his name and three goals. He joined the youth sector in 2013, so will have spent 12 years with the Rossoneri.
