Manchester United is on the hunt for a new manager following the firing of Ruben Amorim, with the club's top brass mulling over their choices.
Currently, it seems most likely that a permanent replacement for Amorim will be appointed in the summer, meaning an interim manager will steer the ship for the rest of the season, with European qualification still up for grabs for several Premier League teams. While Darren Fletcher is currently keeping things ticking over, United might turn to the familiar face of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who had a successful stint as caretaker before landing the managerial role full-time.
Rumors of talks about a temporary arrangement could see the Norwegian back in the driver's seat once more. Solskjaer spent just shy of three years at the helm at Old Trafford, overseeing 168 matches and securing 92 victories across all competitions.

His residence is located in Alderley Edge, an area popular with many soccer players, including Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Solskjaer bought his property, originally a cottage, and transformed it into an "eco mansion," with building work beginning in 2007.

The former United manager delayed moving in with his family, having spent time in Norway after hanging up his boots. This led him to put it on the market, but when no purchaser materialized, reports indicated he leased it to Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
Solskjaer eventually made the house his permanent home in 2019 when he returned to Old Trafford, with the luxurious property sitting on 3.4 acres of grounds.
When the house was advertised in 2016, the estate agents described its amenities, noting: "[The property] is an impressive contemporary style recently constructed detached family residence in extensive grounds of approximately 3.4 acres with impressive leisure complex with pool. [It] is a charming quiet, cobbled road on the outskirts of Alderley Edge, enjoying a delightful rural setting.
"The village centre, which is within a few minutes drive, offers an excellent range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities with a wealth of quality cafes and fine restaurants."
The estate agent continued: "[The home] enjoys extensive mature grounds surrounding the property with sweeping lawns, mature trees and shrubs with open views beyond.
"Natural wood electrically operated double gates to the front, where a sweeping gravel driveway provides excellent parking facilities and leads to an attached garage."
The property also boasts a pool room along with a media room, similar to the cinema facilities commonly seen in other footballers' homes.
Considering that Solskjaer is believed to still own the residence and has been spotted back in Cheshire, there's a possibility he and his family might return to the house should he be brought in for a temporary spell.
