AC Milan’s fortunes have dramatically transformed in the space of one year, with Massimiliano Allegri establishing a very competitive team.
Under Allegri, Milan have made big strides forward compared to 2024-25, which will go down as a nightmare season in which Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao both failed to engineer a run towards the European spots.
Allegri vs. Fonseca vs. Conceicao: The comparison
As MilanPress report, with Allegri on the bench the Rossoneri have collected 31 points in 14 league games thanks to 9 wins, 4 draws, and 1 defeat, with 22 goals scored and only 11 conceded. These numbers are completely different from last season, but not just when comparing the first 14 matches.
With 31 points obtained after 14 games, and therefore with 5 games left to play (Sassuolo, Como, Verona, Cagliari and Genoa) to conclude the first half of the season, Milan are already +1 point compared to what they were at the midway point of the last campaign.
After 19 league games in 2024-25, Milan had recorded just 30 points. It would end up sewing the seeds for a disappointing campaign and an eighth-placed finish, with dropped points against the likes of Torino, Parma, Lazio, Fiorentina, Napoli, Cagliari and Genoa.
In the end Fonseca would not see out the 2024 calendar year and would be replaced by Sergio Conceicao, who did not exactly do much better.
