‘Only five minutes rest’ – Jashari scoops Golden Shoe award in Belgium after Fiorentina game

Ardon Jashari certainly had a busy Sunday, one which saw him start a game for AC Milan and then travel to Belgium not long after.

Before swapping blue and black for red and black by joining Milan from Club Brugge, Jashari had already scooped the Belgian league MVP and best talent awards. The 23-year-old got the ‘Golden Shoe’ for 2025, as the best player in the league over the past year.

Two of his former team-mates were in the running, namely Greek forward Christos Tzolis and Belgian midfielder Hans Vanaken, who were both expected to scoop the prize. However, when Jashari had to board a private vehicle to Belgium, he must have had a feeling.

“I will never forget Belgium and the club Bruges when I look at this trophy. I am very proud to have received this important prize. That’s why I’d like to thank all the people at FC Brugge once again. Without them, this would never have been possible,” he said on stage.

Speaking to reporters, he added a bit of information about his day: “I had a game against Fiorentina, then after the game I had about 15 minutes. I took the van – which was organised as well – to the airport. From there, on to Oostende. Then here I had only five minutes rest, and then I went on stage.”
