Parma 0-0 AC Milan Women: One shot on target in disappointing Rossonere outing

AC Milan Women failed to start 2026 on the right foot, held to a draw against Parma away from home after registering just one shot on target.

In our most recent newsletter, which is free to sign up for, we highlighted that Milan Women really needed to clinch all three points today to keep up with the top of the standings. However, despite this pressure, the team lacked a lot of quality.

Taking on 10th-placed Parma (third to the bottom), Suzanne Bakker’s side certainly headed into the game as favourites. They also had most of the ball throughout the clash, with 56% possession, but it has to be said that they did very little with that.

In fact, their first shot on target came in the 66th minute, courtesy of Angelica Soffia. Instead, it was Parma that came closer to a goal as they forced Laura Giuliana to make quite a few saves, which has to be seen as a failure for the Rossonere.

The fact that the attacker Evelyn Ijeh was missing didn’t help, though they might have to get used to that as a transfer appears to be on the cards for the Swede. Milan are now in 7th place with 14 points, and a Coppa Italia clash against Fiorentina is up next.
