Parma head coach Carlos Cuesta has labelled AC Milan a ‘great’ team, and spoke about how his players will try to stop Rafael Leao.
Milan are going into the game on Saturday night in Emilian feeling in a positive mood about thins, having beaten Roma last weekend. The Rossoneri went one point behind the league-leaders Napoli and have gone nine without defeat in Serie A.
By contrast, Parma have only won one game this season in the league and that leaves them one point above the relegation places. They have scored five goals in their 10 games, with captain Enrico Delprato telling La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning that he would take a point now if offered.
Cuesta spoke at a press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s match against Milan at the Stadio Tardini to preview the game, with his comments relayed by TMW.
What are your thoughts on Milan?
“Both individually and as a whole, Milan are a great team, and we’ll have to be careful. We’ll have to give our all, both in defence and in attack.”

Do you expect Milan to be more aggressive or cautious?
“They look for moments to be aggressive and others to be compact. They have intelligent ball management, which tries to play the game they want, always compact and solid. I expect them to be aggressive in some situations and cautious in others.”
How do you contain Leao?
“We’re focusing on the collective aspect, even though they obviously have quality in many players. But we’re focusing on what we have.
“We have eleven players who will give us a lot, and we want to play the game with what we have. Do our best and take it where we want, expressing ourselves to the fullest.”
Your captain Delprato said he would sign for a draw…
“We approach every game to win. We can’t control the outcome, but we play to win. I feel that ultimately, in life, you have to deal with what comes your way: it also depends on how the game unfolds.
“This week, I was at the Teatro Regio, and I was inspired by what this club has experienced: we all have difficulties in life; the difference is how you react, whether with excuses or by trying everything. Parma had problems and was more united than ever, enjoying one of the greatest moments in its history.
“We have difficulties, but we’ll try to be strong and with the attitude of always looking for an opportunity. You can always do anything if you want.”
Tomorrow you will face an experienced coach in Allegri…
“I don’t know him personally, but I imagine that Mr. Allegri always tries to make the most of his players’ qualities. There are concepts that are not transferable; they are extremely competitive. He is a point of reference.”
