Parma striker Pellegrino responds to Milan rumours: “It’s nice to hear”

Mateo Pellegrino has been mentioned as an option to strengthen AC Milan’s attack in January, and after facing the Rossoneri with Parma last night, the striker was asked about the rumours.

Pellegrino played from start for the Ennio Tardini and although he didn’t get on the scoresheet, he caused issues for the Milan defence with his strength and willingness to make runs. In other words, it was a good performance in front of the Rossoneri management.

Indeed, the 24-year-old striker has been mentioned as a potential January target for Milan, even if Matteo Moretto shut this down fairly recently. Pellegrino also has a past with the city rivals Inter, having played in their academy for several years.

Speaking to TeleLombardia after the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, Pellegrino was asked about the rumours linking him with a move to Milan. He made it clear that his sole focus is on Parma, though hinting that his past with Inter wouldn’t be a deal-breaker.

Is it a goal of yours to come back to Milan after your time at Inter?

“I spent many years with Inter as a kid, but honestly, I don’t think much about that. I’m thinking about what I do every day, always improving. That’s my focus.”

Are you happy to hear these rumours?

“Sure, it’s nice to hear about a team like Milan, but my focus is on Parma. I give everything for this shirt and try to do my best,” he stated.
