This morning, Stefano Pioli spoke to the media, and he discussed his time at AC Milan and his desire for Moise Kean, which never materialised.
Few figures in recent Milan history reach the same level as Pioli. The Italian brought home the 19th Scudetto and delivered multiple memorable nights. Of course, there was also the development of new key figures.
Towards the end, there was a lingering feeling that it was time to end the relationship, and he probably overstayed his time at the club. However, out of respect, the decision was made to keep him until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Pioli’s words
Today, in his new role as the head coach of Fiorentina, he spoke to the press about his time with the Rossoneri, the emotions of a return and even the idea that he wanted Kean in Milano, as Calciomercato.com relayed.
“The 2022 Scudetto was above all a great joy, which brought me happiness and fame. There’s no revenge; when you’re at the highest level, you’re always up for discussion. The more exaggerated the compliments, the more the criticism becomes.

“Will I be moved by Milan-Fiorentina in the seventh round of the league? I definitely think so. In the Scudetto year, a magical atmosphere was created; the chant “Pioli is on fire” amused me a lot. I led a fantastic team.”
“I wanted Kean at Milan, even though some people spoke badly of him. There’s nothing true about that; he’s a serious guy who gives his all. He’s a friend of Leao’s: two people with big hearts.”
Considering the striker is someone that the club have considered this summer, maybe there will be regret internally that he did not arrive.
