This week, AC Milan have been given a boost ahead of the game against Verona, with the news of Rafael Leao’s return.
It was seemingly going to be a case of touch and go for Leao ahead of this weekend, after he missed the Supercoppa Italiana game against Napoli. However, it was hoped that he would be ready for the final, had the Rossoneri made it.
Nevertheless, he only returned to training in the past few days, meaning he would have been rushed or just not been ready.
Leao ready
Now, though, positive news has emerged as he has returned to a group training setting, five days ahead of the game this weekend, as PianetaMilan reports. As a result of this, Massimiliano Allegri has been left smiling, knowing he can count on the Portuguese this weekend.
The muscle injury has been completely sorted, and he could even feature from the start of the game, with enough time to recover fully.
It potentially will offer Allegri a chance to test the Leao-Pulisic partnership again ahead of the January mercato opening. So far, they have only combined for 150 minutes, and with Niclas Fullkrug on the way in, his role could be determined by the performance of the star duo.
