There are differing ideas within the walls of Casa Milan regarding a potential striker signing, according to a report.
Milan were linked with countless different centre-forwards during the summer window. Based on the first few games of 2025-26 it would be fair to say some have turned out to be bullets dodges and others regrets, as we analysed in a recent feature.
Conflicting thoughts on January
PianetaMilan are reporting that Igli Tare is in talks with Pini Zahavi, the agent of Robert Lewandowski, about a potential free transfer next summer. The Albanian director is also following Massimiliano Allegri’s idea for January and is maintaining close contact with Darko Ristić, the agent of Dušan Vlahović.
The Serbian striker could arrive for less than €15m as a transfer fee in the winter. With a net salary of €5m for this second half of the season and a little more (€6-6.5m) from next season, the former Fiorentina player could even say yes, even if there will be strong competition.

Not everyone is convinced of investing in Vlahović, though. Quite the opposite. The owners would prefer not to go after a player with such a high salary. Instead, they would prefer not to betray their principles as happened with Luka Modrić and Adrien Rabiot, and to go down the younger route.
RedBird Capital would not might spending an even higher price tag (€25m or more, as seen with Christopher Nkunku) on a striker, but certainly one with a much lower salary. In short, someone who can potentially be sold for higher figures, with a view to getting yet another capital gain.
CEO Giorgio Furlani, for example, would prefer a signing like Nicolò Tresoldi from Club Brugge. Tresoldi, in addition to wages that are definitely more within RedBird’s parameters, has also been a Rossoneri fan since childhood and Filippo Inzaghi was his idol.
