Positive weekend results-wise for Milan: First team, Futuro and Primavera

1 hour ago 33

It was a positive weekend for AC Milan as almost all three ‘major’ teams clinched wins, with the first team’s success in Udine being the main highlight.

The start to the 2025-26 season has been encouraging one most fronts for the Rossoneri, which is a nice change after the 2024-25 debacle. Of course, the first team is the main driver of the optimism but the academy teams have also done well.

First team (3-0 vs. Udinese)

Starting with the first team, or the main highlight as I said, the 3-0 win against Udinese sent a huge signal to the Serie A rivals. Christian Pulisic ran the show at Stadio Friuli, scoring two goals and assisting another, so he’s in the best form possible to face Napoli.

Thanks to the win, their third on the trot, Milan are now in third place in the standings with nine points. There is great optimism regarding at least a top-four finish but at the same time, some big games are coming up (Napoli, Juventus etc).

Milan Futuro (3-2 vs. Chievo)

Massimo Oddo’s boys bounced back from the draw mid-week with an impressive comeback against Chievo Verona on Sunday afternoon. There were three different goalscorers, helping the Rossoneri come back from 0-2 behind, and the overall performance was positive too.

Indeed, the conceded goals were the result of mistakes/lapses in concentration at the back. Oddo highlighted after the game that he thought his side ‘dominated from start to finish’, so he’s not too concerned about the overall attitude.

Milan Futuro are now in second place after three games with their seven points, so it’s not unreasonable to suggest that they should aim to fight for promotion.

Milan Primavera (1-1 vs. Frosinone)

Finally, as Milan Women didn’t play this weekend, the last team we have to look at is the Primavera. Unfortunately, the 2-0 win against Cagliari wasn’t followed up with another, but at least they managed to snatch a draw in the end.

Filippo Scotti, who is the star of the team, converted a penalty in the dying minutes of injury time and the game thus ended 1-1. They are in 9th place in the standings, which isn’t ideal, but at least they avoided a loss.
