AC Milan did what they had to do at San Siro on Tuesday night, beating Lecce relatively comfortably to reach the Coppa Italia last 16.

The game was conditioned by the red card that Siebert was given inside the opening half an hour, with Santiago Gimenez breaking the deadlock not long after. Christopher Nkunku and Christian Pulisic each scored in the second half, in an eventual 3-0 victory.

Milan vs. Lecce: Ratings from the media

This morning’s newspapers have their ratings from the game, starting with La Gazzetta dello Sport. They gave Milan’s performance a 7 out of 10 as well as Massimiliano Allegri’s management, even though he was in the stands due to a touchline ban.

The best player on the pitch was Nkunku who got a 7, while the one who struggled the most was Samuele Ricci even though he was given a 6, which is still a passing grade. It says a lot about the dominant nature of the performance.

Alexis Saelemaekers, Adrien Rabiot and Davide Bartesaghi got the same mark as Nkunku, with Fikayo Tomori, Strahinja Pavlovic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Gimenez and Pulisic getting a 6.5. Mike Maignan, Koni De Winter, Youssouf Fofana and Zachary Athekame were given 6s.

Corriere dello Sport gave Saelemaekers the MOTM award as he received a 7.5. Rabiot, Gimenez, Nkunku and Pulisic got half a mark less. Tomori, De Winter, Pavlovic, Loftus-Cheek, Ricci, Fofana and Bartesaghi got 6.5s, and the rest 6s.

Finally, Tuttosport awards 7s to Saelemaekers, Rabiot and Nkunku. Pavlovic, Loftus-Cheek, Fofana, Bartesaghi, Gimenez and Pulisic were given 6.5s, and again the rest were given a 6.
