Chelsea and Arsenal will go head-to-head in the Premier League this weekend with the referee and VAR official appointments being confirmed.
The Premier League have confirmed Anthony Taylor will be the referee for Chelsea's impending all-London clash with Arsenal this weekend.
Sunday will see the Blues host the Gunners at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, with both clubs occupying the top two spots in the top-flight standings as things stand.
Arsenal claimed a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their North London Derby on Sunday, with Eberechi Eze scoring a hat-trick in that victory at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea also secured all three points over the weekend with a 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor; a victory which moved the Blues up to second in the table, while they are now six points behind the Gunners.
The two clubs will meet at Stamford Bridge this weekend when the Premier League resumes, and it has been confirmed that Taylor will be the referee for that contest. Taylor will have Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn as his assistant referees, while John Brooks is on VAR duty from Stockley Park.
Taylor has refereed one game each for Arsenal and Chelsea so far this term, with both clubs on the winning side.
Chelsea claimed a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in October, where Taylor was the referee.
The game also saw Taylor wave away penalty appeals from Chelsea after Alejandro Garnacho went to ground in the box following a challenge from Dominik Szoboszlai.
VAR checked the incident and confirmed the on-field decision of no penalty, with head coach Enzo Maresca also receiving a yellow card for his protests over the decision.
Taylor was also the referee for Arsenal's 1-0 win over Fulham last month, which came owing to a second-half goal from Leandro Trossard.
The game saw Taylor point to the spot after Bukayo Saka was adjudged to have been fouled by Fulham defender Kevin.
However, following a VAR check, the spot-kick call was overturned by Taylor after being instructed to look at the pitch-side monitor.
