Premier League XI of players who could still move including Liverpool transfer targets

6 days ago 44

With just over a week until the Premier League season kicks off and slightly more than three weeks until the transfer window shuts, several of the league's top players could still be heading to new clubs, with some eager to secure a move.

There's no shortage of teams needing to bring in new players, while others want to get stars off the books. Some of this will be player-driven, while some clubs will simply hope not to be stuck with players who can't be involved come matchday.

Players like Raheem Sterling, once of Liverpool, will be keen to demonstrate they still have something to contribute to avoid being sidelined from first-team plans. Conversely, Alexander Isak has found himself excluded from first-team training at Newcastle due to his actions, as he seeks to orchestrate a move to the Reds.

There are still thrilling transfers to be made. Here, we take a look at a starting XI of players who could be showcasing their skills in new surroundings in the coming weeks.

While several backup options could yet be on the move, including Manchester City's Stefan Ortega following James Trafford's arrival at the Etihad Stadium from the Clarets, perhaps Emiliano Martinez is the most high-profile potential move. Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the Aston Villa star, who was once voted the world's best goalkeeper.

The Villans are in a strong position with four years still remaining on the Argentina star's contract, but it's a situation worth keeping an eye on.

Chelsea and Manchester United have the most players to offload. The Blues had a surplus of players last season and a similar situation could arise this term.

This provides some useful options for the team, with players like Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuemeka, Christopher Nkunku, and Sterling up for sale, while Armando Broja and Joao Felix have already left. Disasi's versatility could see him playing as a full-back, with Chilwell on the opposite side.

The central defensive duo is likely to be made up of players eager to advance their careers. Both Crystal Palace and Bournemouth would probably be quite content to retain Marc Guehi and Illia Zabarnyi, respectively, but moves to Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are possible.

In midfield, Tottenham is reportedly open to offers for Yves Bissouma, while Everton has shown interest in Jack Grealish.

Eberechi Eze has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham this summer. The Eagles aren't under any obligation to sell, but perhaps Spurs could be spurred into action following James Maddison's serious knee injury.

It's been made clear that Manchester United is keen to offload a number of players. Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are still on the hunt for new clubs despite expressing their desire to leave since the transfer window opened.

There might just be space for one more, however, and perhaps Alejandro Garnacho is the best choice. Chelsea has initiated talks with the Argentine international.

Joining him in the forward line are two players who have had a tense few weeks with their respective teams. Isak has yet to return to first-team training for Newcastle, while Yoane Wissa has expressed his eagerness to move, amid interest from the Magpies, to Brentford.
