AC Milan have relied on experience at the start of this season, with Massimiliano Allegri and Luka Modric playing a bit part in the success so far.
Since Elliott Management took over the club in 2018, and then RedBird in 2022, Milan have mostly focused on developing young players. Initially, there was even an age cap of sorts, with Zvone Boban and Paolo Maldini even having to fight to get the green light for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2020.
Fast forward to now and it’s clear that Milan have changed their stance a little. More and more experienced players have been brought in recently and Luka Modric is the biggest example, arriving at the age of 39 just months before turning 40.
In the latest edition of Pub Chat, Lorenzo and Stefano sat down to discuss experience vs. youth, looking at whether Milan have adopted an Inter-esque strategy of sorts. The focus on youngsters remains, but there have indeed been changes.
