Christian Pulisic was happy with how AC Milan started their season, but believes they could have scored even more against Bari.
On a personal note for Pulisic, he got his campaign started in a brilliant way by scoring early in the second half. A lovely bit of link-up play involving the American and Santiago Gimenez saw him have time to turn and fire home from inside the box.
Milan meanwhile did what they had to do, beating a Serie B opponent in the first round of the Coppa Italia to avoid a nightmare start. Lecce await in the last 16, with the Rossoneri hoping to take confidence into the Serie A opener in six days.
Pulisic spoke to Mediaset after the game to give his thoughts on a professionally done job in front of over 70,000 fans at San Siro. His words are via MilanNews.
A good start, with an early goal…
“This is a good start to the season for us. We could have scored even more goals, but the important thing is that we won.”
Do you believe in the second star?
“For us, the most important thing is the next match. We’re not already thinking about the Scudetto; we want to take it one game at a time.”
