Alarm bells are ringing again over Christian Pulisic as Massimiliano Allegri revealed he is in doubt for the trip to Torino.
Pulisic was set to make his return to the starting line-up for tomorrow evening’s away match in Turin, but he is battling a fever. Calciomercato.com report that – barring any unexpected developments – it will prevent him from playing at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Another absence?
Pulisic returned to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for the derby against Inter on November 23rd, three weeks after suffering a muscle problem while playing for his national team. He was then forced to miss the last league match against Lazio due to muscle fatigue.
The issue wasn’t serious, but as a precaution, he was also benched in the most recent Coppa Italia match against the Biancocelesti, coming on for Ruben Loftus-Cheek with about ten minutes remaining.
Allegri spoke about Pulisic’s condition during his pre-match press conference on the eve of the match against Torino, revealing: “Pulisic had a fever last night, we’ll see if he’ll be available or not.”
The coach therefore remains unclear as to whether the American will be available. If he were, the plan would be for him to start alongside Rafael Leao. If not, it would be another battle between Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christopher Nkunku.
