Christian Pulisic has revealed that he has been telling Santiago Gimenez to be patient, with the striker getting his first goal of the season.

Milan took care of business at San Siro on Tuesday night as they cruised past Lecce, winning 3-0 to reach the last 16 of the Coppa Italia. It was a game largely conditioned by a red card inside the opening 20 minutes for the away side, which brought on wave after wave of pressure.

From the Rossoneri’s point of view though there was still a job to do and they did it very well, scoring through Gimenez in the first half then Christopher Nkunku and Pulisic in the second half, recording a second win over Lecce this season.

Lazio await in the last 16 of the competition, while Pulisic spoke to Mediaset moments after the full-time whistle to offer his thoughts on the win and the performance, with his comments via MilanNews.

What have you been telling Santi lately?

“I always tell him to be patient because he’s been playing really well in the last few games. If he keeps up the good work, he’ll score a lot of goals.”

How are the team at the moment?

“The most important thing is the next match against Napoli. If we play like this, we can get where we want to get.”
