A derby worth approximately €250m will take place on Sunday evening at San Siro. At least when it comes to Inter and AC Milan’s wage bills.

As Quotidiano Sportivo report this morning, Inter have the lion share of the aforementioned figure with €141.5m committed to player salaries. They are first in Serie A , ahead of Juventus (€123m), Napoli (€110.1m), and Roma (€107.5m). Where are Milan? In fifth with €104.5m.

Lazio (€69.9m) and Fiorentina (€60.8m) following the top five, and then there is Pisa in last with €14.7m. Inter lead the way with individuals too as they have five players in the top ten highest-paid in the league. The highest salary goes to Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic: €12m net per year.

In second place is Lautaro Martinez (spotted at San Siro for the Italy-Norway match). He gets €9m since he renewed last summer until 2029. Following closely behind are two more of Cristian Chivu’s players: €6.5m per year for Nicolò Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Milan lag behind

Rafael Leao (contract until 2028) is the highest-paid player among the Rossoneri ranks at €5m net per year, not including bonuses which can take it to €7m. That’s the same salary as Inter’s Manuel Akanji and team-mates Adrien Rabiot and Christopher Nkunku.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Divock Origi are all on €4m. The former Liverpool striker has effectively been missing for a year and a half, and an agreement has been sought for some time to terminate his contract which expires in June 2026.

At Inter, Piotr Zielinski earns half a million more (€4.5m), while Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco earn €4m. Just below (3.8m) are Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Stefan De Vrij.

Luka Modric gets €3.5m, like Fikayo Tomori, €3m for Youssouf Fofana, €2.8m for Mike Maignan, €2.5m for the Jashari-Ricci-Gimenez-Estupinan quartet. At the bottom of the two rankings are Rossoneri’s Lorenzo Torriani (€0.3m) and Nerazzurri’s Raffaele Di Gennaro (€0.15m).
