AC Milan and Inter are both looking for a potential new starting goalkeeper, and they have a mutual target: Elia Caprile of Cagliari.
There has been a lot of talk about a possible future at a top club for Caprile, who has been among the best goalkeeper in Serie A since the start of last season. His splendid last-minute save against Udinese was crucial in avoiding defeat in the last round, for example.
The Italian has continued his exponential growth over recent months, which has deservedly attracted attention. Now, a Milan derby could be contested to sign him.
Derby for Caprile?
As per Quotidiano Sportivo (via MilanNews), Milan and Inter are watching Caprile closely. He obviously doesn’t yet have the status of goalkeepers like Maignan, Sommer, Carnesecchi and Meret, but the feeling is that his potential is high.

Cagliari have conceded five goals in six games, but they could have significantly more had it not been for Caprile, who made several great saves. The player himself even admitted to being flattered by the links recently.
Maignan’s contract with Milan expires at the end of the season, and Juventus are the latest club to be linked. Meanwhile, Inter could see Yann Sommer leave on a free and Josep Martinez hasn’t yet convinced the Nerazzurri enough that he can make the step up.
