Rabiot ‘angry’ as Milan should have ‘done more’ vs. Juventus: “We dropped two points”

Adrien Rabiot believes that AC Milan dropped two points against Juventus, insisting that everyone in the team must do more.

Milan’s winning run came to an end on Sunday night at the Allianz Stadium against Juventus, though their impressive defensive record did continue as the spoils were shared after a 0-0 stalemate.

In truth, the team that will feel a bit more regret is probably the Rossoneri, who squandered big second-half chances. The biggest one was a missed penalty from Christian Pulisic, then substitute Rafael Leao spurned one as well not long after coming on.

The result means that Milan are third in the table having relinquished top spot, with Napoli and Roma currently two points ahead as we go into the second international break of the young campaign.

Rabiot left ‘angry’

Rabiot spoke to DAZN shortly after the full-time whistle and he made it clear that it feels like points dropped. His comments were relayed by MilanNews.

What emotions did you feel this evening?

“It was an emotional match. I have so many team-mates I know at Juventus, the whole stadium, all the staff, even coach Tudor… I’m really happy to have come here. I wanted to win, but that’s how it is, we’re continuing our journey.”

More anger or more emotion?

“I was excited before the match, yes, but I’m obviously angry because we should have won. We had chances, but we were missing something. We need to do more, to improve as a team. We dropped two points, we could have done much more as a team.

“It’s only the start of the season, but winning here would have been significant. We need to keep working because we’re doing well. The important thing is that we didn’t concede; we were solid. We’ll see about the next match, but we have regrets tonight.”

What do you need to do more of?

“We should have used the space in behind more, and we didn’t do it well. Obviously, we need to do better in front of goal final passes, shots… We could have given something more, from everyone.

“Even on second balls, in terms of aggression. We were away, against a strong team, so it’s a positive point. But I think we could have done more and won tonight.”
