Adrien Rabiot, this morning, has discussed the Derby della Madonnina as well as what it would mean to bring success to AC Milan.
In terms of summer signings, it is difficult to overlook Adrien Rabiot as one of the best signings in recent years. The Frenchman has been a revolution since moving back to Italy, and Massimiliano Allegri has gotten his reward.
Allegri, as was well reported, campaigned for his arrival endlessly, and it has been a masterstroke. Rabiot has been sensational, and the Milan midfield is much better, thanks to his arrival.
Rabiot’s words
This weekend, he is likely to be a big player. Speaking generally, he has several experiences in games of this magnitude. However, Allegri will also task him with being the aggressor of the midfield, it seems.
Whilst he did not give anything away about tactics, Rabiot spoke to DAZN about the game, and MilanNews have relayed his words.
On his condition…
“I’m fine, I’ve worked in the gym and off it these past few weeks. I just miss the pitch! I’m feeling great both physically and mentally.”
On his determination…
“No athlete likes being injured, I’m sorry I couldn’t help the team during this period. I took a little longer to recover because when it comes to calves, you have to be careful. It’s better not to risk being out for another three or four weeks.”
On his absence…
“I always think I can help; if I’m there, we’re stronger. I always give my all, and I do my best for my teammates. There have been good and bad moments.
“We did well against the big teams (Roma, Napoli, and Atalanta), but we were lacking something against Pisa and Parma. There was less focus, the team was less solid.”
On Allegri’s mentality…
“I’ve always gotten along well with the coach. I’m very happy to have him back; I like being with the right people. Milan is an extraordinary club, with so much history, and it would be great to win here. I think I’m in the right place to do what I love most and to continue improving.
“Allegri is fantastic; he’s always positive and knows how to communicate with everyone. On the pitch, I like his “rage,” his determination, his desire to win. I always identify with his conversations; he always finds the right words, even when we haven’t played well at the end of a game.
“His personality gets into your head, and this group of young players does a lot of good. For the coach, I’m a “crazy horse”: I’m a player who always gives everything, who goes back and forth. He likes horses, and I think he likes the comparison with horse racing.”
On the Milan derby…
“It’s an exciting match. I’ve never seen it at the stadium, but I can’t wait to be there because I really enjoy these kinds of games.
“You don’t really get a sense of the atmosphere on TV, but it’ll be nice to be able to say I played in a derby like this. Would it be nice to win in the last minute with a goal from me? It’ll be difficult; we’re both strong teams.
“The details will be decided. Maignan told me about the importance of this match, how crucial a win is for the club’s history and for the fans. All of this is pumping me up, I can’t wait to play, especially because I haven’t played in a month and I’m really eager to get back on the pitch.”

On the Thuram brothers…
“Marcus is a friend, we spoke a few days ago. I’ll text him again before the derby; we can joke about these things, but not too much. We talk about a bit of everything; he asked me if I was free these days during the break to go somewhere, but I had to work and preferred to stay focused on my recovery.
“But we talk often and we have a good relationship. Is he stronger than Khéphren? When Marcus talks about his brother, he says he’s stronger, has more quality, is younger, and still has a lot to prove. I’ve been struck by how Marcus has immediately become a key figure at Inter in recent seasons.”
On the Scudetto…
“We have a strong team. With my mentality, I try to push all my teammates to give their all; we’re a good group. The important thing is to stay close to first place, but we still have a long way to go.
“There are a lot of games between November and December, including the Super Cup, which is one of our goals. As early as February, we’ll have a rough idea of how far we can go
