Radiocor: San Siro deed delayed until next week – why Milan and Inter must wait

3 hours ago 4

AC Milan and Inter were expected to sign the deeds for the San Siro this week. However, this date has been pushed back.

The expectation in recent weeks was that the deed for the deal for the stadium would be signed today (October 30) or tomorrow (October 31), as all parties had seemingly set an unofficial ‘deadline’, if you will.

However, this will not be the case any longer.

Stadium delays

Radiocor, via MilanNews, reports that the formal transfer has been postponed until next week, so November 7. It is worth noting that this is still before the deadline for the deal, which is November 10, though this is not being looked at.

The reason, according to the report, is that the ‘bureaucratic process has slowed down in the last few hours’. However, there is no information regarding whether this is down to those at Palazzo Marino, or the clubs themselves.

Although the issues are suggested to be related to the financial guarantees of the deal, for the deal to go ahead, the capital, believed to be around €100 million, ‘must first reach the municipal coffers from the involved banks’.

There is still time to get things finalised. However, it may still end up being a rush against time, especially with another block being attempted. This is why an early unofficial deadline was set, though, to ensure this was not happening closer to the deadline.
