This afternoon, some news about the ownership of the new AC Milan and Inter stadium has been revealed, with a potential new name.
Milan and Inter are in the process of getting a new stadium designed and built, but they must buy the stadium first, which must be done by November 10. Though an unofficial deadline has been set for the end of October.
New company made
In the meantime, something of interest has been discovered by Radiocor – a business and financial news outlet. As MilanNews relays, a new company has been created, called ‘Stadio San Siro Spa’, and this will be the company entrusted with the ownership of the stadium, as well as managing it and its construction.
The company is ‘owned 100% by NSM Holding’, which is a joint venture between ‘Red Stadco Srl’ and ‘Blueco Srl’ and its Board of Directors has six members. Three will represent the Rossoneri and their owners, RedBird, with the other half being Nerazzurri and Oaktree representatives:
Katherine Ralph (Oaktree’s Global Opportunities Strategy Managing Director) has been selected as president;
Massimiliano Catanese (Inter Milan’s Chief of Staff and Board Member);
Carlo Ligori (Oaktree’s Global Opportunities Strategy Associate);
Filippo Guidotti Mori (AC Milan’s Chief Financial Officer);
Stefano Cocirio (AC Milan’s CFO); and
Francesco Bramante (RedBird’s Senior Associate).
Whether the stadium will be called the Stadio San Siro Spa is another question entirely. However, it is unlikely that it will be answered anytime soon.
