Randal Kolo Muani tells club he 'wants to return' amid Tottenham relegation fear

Tottenham loannee Randal Kolo Muani looks to have one eye on his future even while his current club are trying to avoid relegation from the Premier League

Randal Kolo Muani reportedly wants to return to his former loan club, Juventus, following his temporary spell at Tottenham.

Since arriving in the Premier League, the 27-year-old has struggled to replicate the form he displayed on a temporary basis at Juventus where he scored 10 goals in 22 appearances.

From a total of 34 games played in all competitions with Spurs, he has managed just half his total for goals and just one of those has come in the Premier League, which makes it no surprise his current club are embroiled in a relegation battle.

Championship football could be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, but that is highly unlikely to impact Kolo Muani as he will almost certainly will not be in north London next season with his sights sights set on a reunion elsewhere.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman has made it clear to Juventus that he wants to play for them again.

The report claims the Serie A outfit even tried to sign him in the January transfer window through terminating his loan at Spurs early. However, they were unable to do so with parent club Paris Saint-Germain now said to be wanting a permanent departure this summer.

Juve tried to sign him from his PSG ahead of the 2025/26 season, but no agreement was reached over a fee with the Ligue 1 champions hoping to recoup as much of the £76.4million committed to signing him from Eintracht Frankfurt as possible.

Coincidentally, most of Kolo Muani's goals for Tottenham this season have come against former clubs with the forward grabbing a brace in the 5-3 Champions League defeat to PSG before then scoring in the 2-0 win at Frankfurt.

His other strikes have both come on home soil against Arsenal and Atletico Madrid. One of his four assists in this campaign was for Richarlison's equaliser at Anfield against Liverpool.

Under Igor Tudor, he has managed three goal contributions from largely limited game time which shows he still has a part to play in Tottenham's season.

The 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, in which he made a 23-minute cameo, could have been his last appearance under Tudor with Spurs and their interim head coach possibly set to part ways over the international break.

Former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi and Adi Hutter are the latest names to be linked with taking the job until the end of the season.

USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino is the most likely candidate to take charge for next season and beyond but that may depend on Spurs' Premier League status.
