Jefte signed a four-year contract on his arrival from Fluminense last summer
Rangers have sold Jefte to Palmeiras for an undisclosed fee, just 15 months after the Brazilian left-back was signed from Fluminense.
The Rio-born 21-year-old has made 56 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club, all but six of them starts.
But new head coach Russell Martin had preferred to play Max Aarons ahead of Jefte, despite saying the right-sided Englishman was not a long-term answer in that position.
Jefte had signed a four-year contract with Rangers last summer, arriving from Brazil for a reported £680,000 fee after spending a season on loan to Apoel and helping them win the Cypriot title.
Palmeiras currently sit third in the Brazilian top flight, four points behind leaders Flamengo and six places and 12 points ahead of his former club.
