Ravezzani says ‘penalty box bomber’ is missing at Milan: “That’s all there is to it”

AC Milan only found the back of the net once again Genoa, despite 32 shots and 2.32 in expected goals. As highlighted by Fabio Ravezzani, the Rossoneri are lacking a ‘penalty box bomber’. 

The 1-1 draw against Daniele De Rossi’s side was indeed a frustrating one. After struggling to create chances against Cagliari, winning thanks to great efficiency, it was the complete opposite at San Siro and it nearly ended in defeat as well.

While Rafael Leao eventually got the equaliser, he was far from great in the game and Christian Pulisic, while denied a few times by Leali, didn’t showcase the same accuracy as in previous games. In other words, Milan didn’t do enough in attack.

Sharing his thoughts on X, the Telelombardia director Fabio Ravezzani said that Milan need a penalty box bomber to fix their problems, which puts a lot of weight on Niclas Füllkrug’s shoulders. A bomber is a very strong and clinical striker, roughly translated from Italian.

“32 shots (8 on target) weren’t enough for Milan to score more than one goal against Genoa. And in the end, they even risked a heartbreak with a missed penalty for the opponents.

“The team struggles against the smaller sides because it doesn’t have a proper penalty box bomber. That’s all there is to it. Rabiot is the best, while Modric is visibly declining. Leao isn’t feeling well, and it shows,” he stated.
