Eduardo Camavinga has been linked with a move to Liverpool previously, but the timing of a new report coming out of Spain is bizarre considering his standing in the Real Madrid squad

A spurious transfer report by the notoriously unreliable Fichajes claims that Liverpool has had an $82 million offer from Eduardo Camavinga rejected.
Camavinga has established himself as an important player for Real Madrid since joining the Spanish giant from Rennes in 2021, with his versatility seeing him used in midfield, defense, and sometimes as a winger.
It would make little sense for Madrid to sell him, nor would it make any sense for Liverpool to look to sign a new midfielder given the other pressing areas of concern in the squad.
Liverpool already has Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Florian Wirtz and Wataru Endo as midfield options, and Arne Slot's squad would be best served with the addition of a new center-back or a new attacker.

One player who Liverpool is interested in, is the Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, but the Reds are seemingly facing an uphill battle to divert him away from Manchester City.
It emerged last week that Semenyo's preference was to join the Etihad Stadium club, but The Telegraph is saying Liverpool could throw a spanner in the works by moving for the 25-year-old next month.
Liverpool spent a huge sum of money during the summer transfer window, but also brought in a significant amount through player sales, so it is not necessarily the case that the Reds will be hamstrung in the January window due to their activity in the off-season.

The addition of Semenyo to Liverpool's squad would be a welcome one at the moment, considering the selection issues currently facing Arne Slot.
Alexander Isak is sidelined with a broken leg, while Mohamed Salah is at the Africa Cup of Nations, and his long-term future at Anfield remains uncertain.
A £65 million ($88 million) release clause in Semenyo's Bournemouth contract will become active on New Year's Day and remain active until January 10.
The deadline on the release clause was inserted so that Bournemouth would have time to replace Semenyo were he to leave in the first few days of January.
Semenyo has been one of the Premier League's most productive forwards this season, registering nine goals and three assists.
