Ante Rebic has reflected on the time that he spent at AC Milan, admitting that he proved something to himself at the club.
Rebic’s four-year spell with Milan came to an end in the summer of 2023 when he left for Besiktas, and it was certainly a roller coaster ride for the forward. He initially struggled to make an impact after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt, and a quick departure seemed imminent.
However, he exploded into life in the second part of his debut campaign with a run of important goals. Then in 2020-21 he had his most prolific season with the Rossoneri, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in Serie A, including a hat-trick against Torino in a 7-0 rout.
In the end the Croatian player for Milan from 2019 to 2023, making 123 appearances and scoring 29 goals in all competitions. After a tough spell in Turkey, he has ended up with Hajduk Split in Croatia, and he reflected on his time at San Siro in an interview with his new club.
“From a footballing perspective, my time at Milan was the best. I played at the highest levels and with big names. I proved to myself that I could be there,” he said.
