Giovanni Renna and Alex Castiello both reacted to Milan Primavera’s important 2-1 win against Roma earlier today, expressing great joy over the result.
Milan Primavera definitely headed into the clash as underdogs, with Roma sitting in second place, but the game ended up being very even. The Rossoneri took the lead through Filippo Plazzotta, finding the back of the net with a great strike, and then restored the lead through Alex Castiello.
We have done a full report on the game as well, which also includes videos of the goals, but you can find the post-match reactions below. The head coach Renna and the big hero Castiello both spoke to the club’s official channel…
Renna on the win…
“It was a hard-fought match against a great team. We managed to take the lead, but then Roma attacked, and the boys responded well. Even after Roma equalised, we managed to stay compact and ultimately secure victory with a fantastic goal from Castiello.
“The victory must be dedicated to Andrea [Di Siena, who got injured], who was in excellent form. He had been playing for two consecutive games, but unfortunately he suffered this injury. We hope it isn’t too serious, first for him and then for him to recover. So this victory is for him,” the manager stated.
Castiello on scoring the winner…
“It was a wonderful feeling. I’ve been looking for this goal for a few games. Above all, it’s a very important victory for the team. After so many games where we threw away so many points, we finally took home the three points, and that’s all that matters.
“I would like to dedicate this goal and this victory to all the families of the victims of the tragedy in Switzerland and to my teammate Di Siena, hoping it’s nothing serious.”
The situation still needs to be improved in the standings as the Rossoneri are in eighth place, but to start the year with such a big win is very important. The next game will be in the Primavera Cup against Parma.
