AC Milan could repeat the same move they did with David Beckham by bringing Son Heung-min back to Europe, reports claim.
Son made the decision to leave Spurs at the end of last season and head to Los Angeles FC after 10 years in north London. He has done incredibly well in the United States, with eight goals and three assists to his name in nine matches.
According to The Sun, Son could take advantage of the ‘David Beckham clause’ in view of the 2026 World Cup. His contract includes a special clause allowing him to return to European football during the MLS offseason, to get sharp.
They add: “Son Heung-min rejected offers from European big clubs and Saudi Arabian teams to choose MLS. However, like Beckham’s brief return to AC Milan from LA Galaxy, he has left room to return to the Premier League through a short-term loan.”
Of course, the idea of going back to England and to the Premier League will be one of the possibilities given his past there. That being said, the club that first used the ‘Beckham clause’ could well try to repeat that same coup.
According to TransferFeed, among the alternatives to a return to Spurs that are being considered by Son is a move to Milan, or even heading to play in South Korea ahead of the World Cup. According to Transfermarkt, the player’s current market value is €20m.
