Milan Futuro star Mattia Sandri is now just one step away from leaving the club, according to a report, with a move to Serie C side Crotone on the cards.
Sandri was one of the big signings for Milan Futuro last summer, joining the club from Sestri Levante, and he played a crucial role throughout the season despite the relegation. While his numbers say two goals and six assists, it was his ability to read and dictate the play that made a huge difference.
Sadly, and as was very expected given the relegation, it looks like Milan won’t get to keep hold of Sandri for the upcoming season. Work is already underway to promote some youngsters to the project, but replacing the midfielder will be difficult.
Crotone one step away
According to TuttoC, Crotone have made great progress in the negotiations with Milan and Sandri, now just one step away from securing a deal. There likely won’t be much money involved, if any, so it’s just a case of accepting the player’s will here.
In addition to Crotone, Trento have also been eyeing a move for Sandri but it looks like the former will win that battle. Crotone came close to Serie B promotion last campaign, so one can definitely understand the 24-year-old’s desire to go there.
