AC Milan and Roma could be about to engage in a transfer battle to land Rayan from Vasco da Gama, a report claims.
Towards the end of the summer mercato, it was reported by Sky that Milan wanted to sign Rayan as a potential replacement for Samuel Chukwueze. He left for Fulham in the end and Noah Okafor was sold to Leeds, but there was no arrival after those sales.
According to RomaLive, it is likely that Rayan will move to Serie A when he does leave Brazil, and at the moment Milan have the ‘upper hand’ over Roma in the race to land him. Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare are both big admirers, but the problem is the price tag.
In the summer, both the Rossoneri and the Giallorossi tried to test the waters for a player that has received hype not seen the days of Vinicius and Rodrygo. The Brazilians have so far rejected a €10m offer from Porto, while Dynamo Moscow and Saudi Arabia made big offers too.
Milan remain ready to pounce and they do have a non-EU slot still available for January, while Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma will have to wait until June. Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti is thinking about a senior Brazil call-up for the 19-year-old, who has 15 goals in 83 appearances for Vasco da Gama.
