This afternoon, a report from Brazil has suggested that AC Milan have made a bid for a young defender. However, it may not be the only one this January.
A lot has been said about the defence in the lead-up to January, and it is certainly understandable. However, this is where the club must be realistic. After all, the budget is not massive, and so targets must be considered properly.
In the harshest way, are they going to provide value in the next six months, because a summer move, when finances are better, could be equally as beneficial?

The flip side of this is their profiles. Of course, Milan may not need a certain player now, but they may be worth taking a punt on due to their potential, and it seems that this could be the case regarding Souza, the 19-year-old left-back from Santos.
As Eduardo Burgos reports on X, the Rossoneri have already made a first bid, with ‘everything pointing to him leaving Brazil in this mercato’. At present, the bid is only being considered, but he seems to be one of the profiles liked by those in the management.
Considering the interest in Davide Bartesaghi and Pervis Estupinan’s poor start to Italian life, it does make sense to look at cover. However, it may be one that could wait…
