Some bad news has arrived for AC Milan’s January signing Alphadjo Cisse, who could be forced to sit out most of the rest of the season.
Milan officially confirmed the signing of Cissè on a permanent deal from Hellas Verona on deadline day for the winter window. As part of the deal, it was also announced that the teenager would remain on loan with Catanzaro, for whom he has six Serie B goals so far this term.
The player himself gave an interview not long after the move was made official, confirming that he thought he was going to PSV Eindhoven, but when the Rossoneri came knocking he knew where he wanted to go.
Unfortunately, in their most recent league match against Reggiana, Cisse was forced off in the 18th minute with a right adductor injury. As reported by Uscatanzarocalcionews.it (via MilanNews), the 1-year-old attacking midfielder suffered a grade II tear to his right adductor.
Recovery time in these cases is estimated at 30-40 days, although it could take up to 60 days for him to return to action. This is a significant blow for Alberto Aquilani’s side, which has lost a key player at a crucial point in the season.
Cissé will begin his rehabilitation program in the next few days, supervised by the club’s medical staff, who will monitor his condition day by day. His return will only take place once his recovery is complete, to avoid relapses and the risk of losing him for the remainder of 2025-26.
