Reports: Allegri facing punishment for Oriali spat after Napoli’s hypocritical statement

Massimiliano Allegri is facing punishment for his verbal tirade against Napoli assistant coach Gabriele Oriali, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the referee’s report appears to have contained virtually nothing about the spat between the Milan coach and Oriali, which caused Napoli to put out an official statement against Allegri.

It was the federal inspectors – who are present pitch side at every game – who shed light on the matter. Last night, FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè was able to read the report from his inspectors, who had seen and recorded everything.

The report alleges repeated personal insults, so it is likely that Allegri will face sanctions of some kind. The rules provide for a fine or, in the most serious cases, suspension (which he would serve in the league). It seems that this time the Rossoneri boss will get away with a mere financial penalty.

Obviously, it depends on the inspectors’ detailed reports, which could go beyond what was seen on TV. Napoli’s position is clear: in their statement they spoke of Oriali being ‘severely insulted with offensive and repeated terms’ and of an ‘aggression that was totally out of control’.

As MilanNews report, there is some hypocrisy on Napoli’s part. Only a few months ago Antonio Conte, their head coach, lashed out at Chivu’s assistant during a Parma-Napoli match, shouting: “Piece of sh**, I’m coming for you!”
