AC Milan might be given an assist in their hopes of signing Robert Lewandowski, from the unlikely source of Harry Kane.
According to a report from The Guardian, Barcelona have made Kane ‘their first-choice target’ to replace Lewandowski. The latter’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Barca are eyeing a release clause in the Englishman’s contract with Bayern Munich set at around €65m.
Kane’s form in Germany has been simply ridiculous, with 108 goals in 113 appearances. He became the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues in September, and also became a Bundesliga winner earlier this year, his first major honour.
Even though Kane has stated that he would be open to the idea of staying with the Bavarian club beyond the end of his current deal in 2027, the idea of moving to Barcelona ‘could entice him too’.

What it means for Milan
As Calciomercato.com write, if Barcelona were to make a concrete move for Kane next summer, it’s clear that Lewandowski’s fate would be sealed and he would headed for a departure. This would provide an opportunity for Milan, who want to sign him on a free transfer.
The Rossoneri have inquired about the Pole’s situation, but he doesn’t want to leave in January, by virtue of an agreement with Catalan president Joan Laporta. Milan, for their part, would prefer to sign a new striker in January, but Igli Tare and co. will stay in touch with his agent and wait.
