Reports: Bennacer leverage useless in Rabiot pursuit as Marseille reject swap

Ismael Bennacer won’t be part of the negotiations that AC Milan are currently carrying out with Marseille over Adrien Rabiot, multiple reports claim.

To reinforce the midfield before the window closes, Milan have reportedly set their sights on Rabiot. Max Allegri has requested the Frenchman’s arrival and talks are now ongoing between the parties. However, some work will have to be done on the price tag.

The Rossoneri outcast Bennacer is expected to leave the club this summer, or at least that’s the goal, and he has been linked with Marseille. However, despite the French side’s interest, it has already been made clear that he won’t help in the Rabiot negotiations.

Bennacer not of any help

According to Matteo Moretto in his latest YouTube video, Milan and Marseille talked about Bennacer at the start of the negotiations. The French side made it clear that the Algerian isn’t a priority for them and, subsequently, that they want €14-15m for Rabiot.

Fabrizio Romano went one step further and said that there haven’t been any Bennacer-Rabiot swap talks. The Algerian isn’t part of the deal, as the journalist put it, and he won’t be in the future either. This also means that some work will have to be done on the transfer fee.
